Description	:	She was the daughter of John. C. and Rosa T. Kamps. born in Appleton June 7, 1887. Moved to Milbank when she was 5, attended grande school in Milbank and High School in Webster, S.D. She was employed as a school teacher untill she married Mathias Schmitt on January 17, 1899 at Milbank. They made their home on his family farm in Rusk township till 1919, when they moved to Webster.After his passing she moved back to the farm and lived with her sons Edgar and George. Moved to Milbank when she was 5, attended grande school in Milbank and High School in Webster, S.D. She was employed as a school teacher untill she married Mathias Schmitt on January 17, 1899 at Milbank. They made their home on his family farm in Rusk township till 1919, when they moved to Webster.After his passing she moved back to the farm and lived with her sons Edgar and George. Since 1951 she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Mike Schiley at Lily. Here she passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25th from congestive heart failure at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 18 days. She was a member of C.O.F. and St. Ott's Altar Societty. Fuuneral services were held at 9:30 a.m. at St. Otto's Catholic Church at Webster, with Fr. A. Arthur Weber of Waaubay officiating. Music was furnished by St. Otto's Grade School Choir. Interment was made in St. Otto's Cemetery, Webster. Pallbearers were Hugh Gort, Francis Fleischhake, John Gels, Herbert Hilt, Lambert Becht, and Duane Wagner. Relatives and friends attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. George Naessig from Lewistown, Mont., Ted Kamps of New Town, N.D., Mrs. Geroge Miller of Mott, N.D., Mrs. Emil Alwin, Mr and Mrs. Mike Schmidt and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Alwin of Watertown. Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Miller of Benson, Minn. Mrs, Clara Madden of Waubay. Mrs. Clara Roggenbuck, Veronica Boruta and Bernard Boruta of Milbank. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Sather and Martin Berg of Sisseton.
