She was born March 7, 1892 in Frank, Russia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sell. She grew up in Russia and was married to John H. Wagner on January 24, 1911. They moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1913, where they lived for a year before moving to McCook, Nebraska. In 1915, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and then to Park City, Montana, where he farmed. They moved to Billings in 1921. He died in January of 1955, and she lived... Read More	The Billings Gazette, August 7, 1974: Katherine Walter, 82, of the Western Manor, died Tuesday morning. She was born March 7, 1892 in Frank, Russia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sell. She grew up in Russia and was married to John H. Wagner on January 24, 1911. They moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1913, where they lived for a year before moving to McCook, Nebraska. In 1915, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and then to Park City, Montana, where he farmed. They moved to Billings in 1921. He died in January of 1955, and she lived in Billings since that time. She married Christ Walter, Sr., October 28, 1957 in Billings. She had lived at the Western Manor since August of 1973. She was a member of the Pilgram Congregational Church and the Ladies Aide Circle. Survivors include the widower of 2115 Central Avenue; five sons, David J. Wagner of 4837 Mitchell Avenue, Harold R. Wagner of 4837 Danford Drive, Wilbur W. Wagner of 4519 Ryan Avenue, Eugene R. Wagner of 1942 Cook Avenue, and Ronald W. Wagner of Dillon, Montana; five daughters, Mrs. Emanuel (Amelia) Frank of Laurel, Mrs. Henry E. DeRapp of McMinnville, Oregon, Mrs. Christ (Ruth) Rudio of Rt. 1, Billings, Mrs. Esther Neibauer of Rt. 1, Billings, and Mrs. Herman (Helen) Besel of 3531 St. John's Avenue; three stepsons; two stepdaughters; 30 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 pm Thursday at the Pilgram Congregational Church, the Rev. Fred Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Smith's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. (What was then known as Frank is now known as Medveditsa.)
