[Please see Find A Grave Memorial# 17449961] Kay Delores Spring was born February 16, 1920 in Union County near Creston, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Ella (Oenbring) Roeder. She graduated from Arispie High School in 1938. She worked as a nurses’ aide during World War II. She met her first husband, Russell, there when he was in the hospital. She married Russell Allison on December 20, 1943. They farmed in the Corning area and later moved to a farm near Orient, Iowa. . Russell passed away February 1960 from cancer. Kay was united in marriage to Raymond Spring on December 29, 1962 in Nodaway, Iowa. Kay and Raymond ran the locker and grocery store in Nodaway and they also owned Kay’s Upholstery. She worked as the Nodaway town clerk for 24 years. She helped with Friday evening Bingo at the Nodaway Community Center. She enjoyed having coffee everyday with friends and playing cards. She was an avid reader and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tom, her husband Russell and her husband Raymond. She is survived by her sister Ann (Jack) Hawks of Mt. Pleasant and her brother Jim (Dorothy) Roeder of Creston, her “adopted son” Jimmy Else, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
