Read More	Kathryn Fae "Kate" Greenwood of Eureka, went to meet her Savior on Friday, January 1, 2016 at the home of her son, Mike, of rural Hamilton, at the age of 85. She was born on March 13, 1930, in Eureka, the daughter of Harris E. and Edna F. (Wheeler) Lewis. She was raised in Eureka and attended local schools. She began caring for Dr. John Basham’s children at an early age and later worked at the Smith Veterinary Clinic in Eureka. On February 4, 1953, Kate was united in marriage to Fredrick Santford Greenwood in Eureka. They made their home in Piedmont and later rural Eureka. They moved to rural Holcomb, Kansas in 1977 while Fred worked in oilfields, and Kate worked for the Holcomb Co-op. She also served as Postmaster of the Friend, Kansas Post Office. They retired to Greenwood County in 1993. She was a member of Eastwood Rebekah Lodge #557 and an attendant of the Neal Evangelical Free Church. She is survived by two sons, William “Mike” and wife, Suzan Greenwood of rural Hamilton; and Larry Greenwood and partner, Dee Hilbish of Eureka; and one daughter, Fredda and husband, Lee Blakley of Eureka; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five siblings: sisters, Doris Bogle of Eureka; and Roseletta Sponseller of Eureka; brothers, Harris Lee Lewis of Eureka; and Charles Lewis of Eureka; and sister, Brenda Meier of Climax. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Harriet and Sierra. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Evans of the Neal Evangelical Free Church officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Neal Evangelical Free Church or to the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy.
