Description	:	MILAN - Kathryn J. Kay Doerner, 78, of Milan, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 8, 2005, in the Fisher-Titus Medical Center of Norwalk. She was born July 12, 1927, in Olmsted Falls, Ohio. She was a 1945 graduate of Milan High School and later attended Oberlin College. She retired from Key Bank. Kay was member of Milan Presbyterian Church. She was an elder in the church, and also a member of the Women's Association. Kay Doerner, 78, of Milan, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 8, 2005, in the Fisher-Titus Medical Center of Norwalk. She was born July 12, 1927, in Olmsted Falls, Ohio. She was a 1945 graduate of Milan High School and later attended Oberlin College. She retired from Key Bank. Kay was member of Milan Presbyterian Church. She was an elder in the church, and also a member of the Women's Association. She was a Lioness in Milan and also a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 527. She is survived by her husband, Lewis E. Doerner, whom she married Aug. 12, 1946; a daughter, Lucinda Smith of Norwalk; two sons, Richard and Bruce Doerner, both of Milan; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers, George Shane of Bellevue and Orre Shane of Milan. Kay was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Shane; her mother and stepfather, Grace (Atkinson) and Oscar Wadstrom; and a brother, Milton Shane. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in the Milan Presbyterian Church, Edison Drive and Church Street, Milan, where services will be 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Tim Whalen officiating. Burial will follow in Milan Cemetery. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to one's favorite charity. Condolences may be made at www.grofffuneralhomes.com. Groff Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Milan, is in charge of arrangements.
