Kate was born September 16, 1935 in Spencerville, OH, to Charles and Grace (Counts) Harruff who both preceded her in death. Kate attended Shawnee High School. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Kate had a huge heart and would help anyone in need. Some of her hobbies included doing various puzzle books and crosswords. Some of her favorite TV shows are Little House In the Prairie, The Walton's and The Golden Girls.... Read More	Kathryn L. Kate loved her children and cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild dearly. Kate is survived by her children, Mark Sterling of Lima, OH, Rebecca "Becky" Workman of Lima, OH, Michael "Mike" Sterling of Lima, OH, Paula Gay of Lima, OH, Janet Gay of Lima, OH, Gerald Gay, Jr. of Lima, OH, ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, siblings, Emerson Harruff of Lincoln, IL, Gaylord Harruff of Las Vegas, NV, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Stephen "Steve" Sterling, siblings, Kenneth Harruff, Glenn Harruff, Willis Harruff, Evelyn Thatcher, Ruth Isham, and Edna Edens. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00pm at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Jonathan Spyker to officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee Fire Department, 2526 Ft Amanda Road, Lima, Ohio 45804, Alzheimer's Association, 200 E High Street, Lima, Ohio 45801 or Putnam County Hospice, 575 Ottawa-Glandorf Rd #3, Ottawa, OH 45875.
