Read More	Haxtun-Fleming Herald, Haxtun, Colorado, January 10, 2007 Kathryn Mary (Kleve) Mansfield, 85, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Regent Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Holyoke. Kathryn was born near Holyoke on May 1, 1921, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Heithoff) Kleve. She grew up on the family farm east of Holyoke and attended a country school until entering Holyoke High School in 1935. In 1936, she took a year off to help her ailing mother with cooking, gardening and milking the cows. She returned to Holyoke High and graduated with the class of 1940, and in 1941 graduated from Bonnie School of Cosmetology in Denver. On November 30, 1941, Kathryn married Robert Mansfield at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Las Vegas, Nevada. After living in the Holyoke and rural Nebraska areas for a time, the family, which by then included five children, moved to Alhambra, California, where the children attended All Souls and Martha Baldwin schools. Kathryn enjoyed being in the Mother’s Club, being a room mother and baking pies and cakes for school activities and for her family. In 1958, her husband passed away and Kathryn entered the workforce, becoming a salesperson for Montgomery Ward. She enjoyed her job until her retirement 17 years later. She then enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening and cooking for others. Kathryn moved back to Holyoke in May 2000 to be near her grandson Craig Kramer and family. She lived at Carriage House before moving to Regent Park Nursing Home in 2004. Her memories of her childhood on the farm were heard and enjoyed by many. Survivors include her son James Mansfield, Ryderwood, Washington; daughters Marilyn and husband Bob Phelps, Chino, California, and Carolyn Pena, Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister-in-law Betty Kleve, Holyoke; eight grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. Her parents; her husband Robert; children Glenn Mansfield and Lynda Kramer; grandson Jimmy Phelps; and brother Darwin Kleve preceded her in death. Funeral services were held January 10 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Holyoke. Burial followed at the Holyoke Memorial Park. Jeffers-Bauke Funeral Home handled arrangements.
