Mrs. Peterson was born on December 4, 1914 in Scotts bluff, Neb. to parents William Nicklas and Rosa Uphoff. She moved north of Stoneham with her parents where they home steaded. She attended school in Brandon, New Raymer, and nine years in Stoneham where she graduated with the class of 1932. In 1937, she married Willard Ralph Peterson in Brush, They stayed in the Stoneham Willard farm community until 1948 when they purchased a ranch south of Elbert. The ranch is now known as the Peaceful Valley Boyscout Camp. In 1959, they returned to the Stoneham/Willard area again and farmed and ranched. They sold the ranch in 1964 and moved to Sterling where they owned and operated the Village Inn Pizza Shop until their retirement in 1973. They resided in Sterling ever since. Kathryne was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Royal Neighbors, Beta Sigma Phi (Iota Master Chapter),BPO-Does. She delivered Meals on Wheels for 16 years. Mrs. Peterson is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Lawrence Nicklas. She is survived by her son, Wayne L. Peterson of Denver; daughters, Anita L. Brauch of Arvada, Kathie A. Walsh of Sterling; sisters, Doris Jean Appelhans of Sterling and Lorraine Murphy of Sterling; seven grandchildren; and two great- randchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's School or Meals on Wheels in care of the Tennant Funeral Home, Box 1547, Sterling, Co. 80751.
