E. J. Klein officiating at a requiem high mass. Vocalist was a grandson, Gerald Jennings of Kelley, accompanied by Mrs. Mark Maeder of Orient. Casket bearers were grandsons, John, Dennis, Charles, Frank, and Gregory Gruss, all of Greenfield, Dean Jennings of Council Bluffs, Phillip Jennings and Tom O’Connor, both of Denver, Colo. Mrs. Jennings was born June 5, 1884, at Massena, the daughter of John R. and Katherine Waters Eblen and died at the Marten Manor Home in Griswold July 20. She had resided there for a year. Prior to entering the home, she lived with her youngest daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Gruss, near Greenfield. Preceding her in death were her husband, who died April 13, 1930; her parents, three brothers, Johnny, Frank, and Owen; two sisters, Mary Amdor and Susie Pace; two half sisters, Gertie Connor and Myrtle Starlin; two grandchildren, children of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Jennings. Surviving are four sons, Raymond of Council Bluffs; Patrick of Buena Park, Calif., Francis of Denver, Colo. and Paul of Little Sioux; two daughters, Mrs. P. J. O’Connor of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Vincent (Kathleen) Gruss of near Greenfield. Glen Eblen of Massena, a half brother, also survives. Arrangements were by Bickford-Murry Funeral Home in Greenfield, and burial was in the Calvary Cemetery at Massena.
