Description	:	Mrs. Catherine Nowotny died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anton Roshek, last Saturday morning from the infirmities of old age. The lady was born in Bohemia, Sept. 8, 1827 and was 81 years, 3 months and 13 days. She was married to Anton Nowotny in 1850 and in 1855 they came to America and settled in Illinois. After a residence of ten years in that state they came to Iowa and located on the farm south-west of Victor and remained there until the time of her death. Her husband preceded her in death in 1906. Six children were born all of whom survive: Mrs. Louisa Beran, Mrs. Mary Yuska, John A. Nowotny, Mrs. Elizabeth Jirieck, Mrs. Frances Erusha, Mrs. Clara Roshek all of Iowa. The funeral was held at St. Bridget church on Monday, May 24 at ten o'clock, conducted by Rev. Father H. Frencken. Interment was made int he I.O.O.F. cemetery. [Source: The Victor Record 5/25/1910]
