Description	:	Graveside Services for Keith Richmond, 61, of Chariton will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10 am at the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Douds, Iowa. Family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Friday at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Memorials are requested to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Keith Alan Richmond was born October 13, 1953 in Osage, Iowa to Howard and Charlette Shadbolt Richmond. He graduated from Osage High School in 1971. He went to Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis and worked in Indiana before returning to the University of Iowa where he met Lisa Lagle in lab class. Lisa was won over with an amazing meal he prepared of beef roast and vegetables served on his weight bench since he had no table. He always enjoyed cooking and preparing nice meals for his family. They were married on October 17, 1981 and were blessed with daughters: Beth and Erin. They both worked in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area living in North Liberty until moving to Chariton in 1994. Keith was a Medical Technologist and manager of the Lucas County Health Center's Lab. Everything in his life revolved around his girls. He loved to surprise them with gifts hidden in unusual places, like hiding money in their text books. Sending them pizza or taking them out if they were having a tough day. he worked hard for the softball program in Chariton and not only enjoyed coaching his girls, but also liked to support all the girls as they went on to different levels. He and the girls loved to watch all sports together and he was especially happy when they'll watched the Hawkeyes together. His girls will remember his funny and unexpected one-liners and how he was spontaneous and generous. Keith passed away September 2, 2015 at his home. Preceding him in death were his parents: Howard and Charlette. Surviving are his wife, Lisa; daughter: Beth Richmond and Erin Richmond; brother, Ronald(Mary)Richmond and twin brother, Kent(Lana)Richmond; along with nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
