Description	:	Keith R. Wickes, 89, of Cambridge City, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2017 at Reid Health in Richmond, surrounded by his daughters. He was born on February 15, 1928 in Pershing, Indiana to Ramon and Mildred Stonecipher Wickes. He was a 1947 graduate of Lincoln High School and attended 2 years of machine school. Wickes, 89, of Cambridge City, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2017 at Reid Health in Richmond, surrounded by his daughters. He was born on February 15, 1928 in Pershing, Indiana to Ramon and Mildred Stonecipher Wickes. He was a 1947 graduate of Lincoln High School and attended 2 years of machine school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After a career at Perfect Circle in Hagerstown, he owned and operated Wickes Shoe Store. He also served as Director of Building, Grounds and Transportation for 14 years in the Western Wayne Schools. Keith was a member of Cambridge Lodge #5 F&AM since 1963 and a former member of the Cambridge City Evening Kiwanis for 29 years. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and always loved family dinners at Willie and Red's in Hagerstown. He also enjoyed wintering with his wife in Naples, Florida for over 20 years. Survivors include his three daughters, Cheryl (Steve) Ramey of Hagerstown, Indiana; Lynn (Steve) Mahoney of Columbus, Indiana, and Melissa (Al) Williams of Winchester, Indiana; five grandchildren, Shawn (Tonya) Ramey of Crawfordsville, Indiana; Shannon Ramey of Hagerstown, Indiana; Brianna (Andy) Miller of Noblesville, Indiana; Michael (Mollee) Mahoney of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Patrick Williams of Los Angeles, California; seven (soon to be eight) great-grandchildren; special nephew, Mike (Penny) Wickes and niece, Vickie (Joe) Russell, along with several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Melba L. Meadows Wickes, who passed in 2016; his parents; his brother, William; and an infant sister. At his request a private burial will take place on May 20th at Zion's Lutheran Cemetery, Pershing, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to New day Kiwanis for the Christmas Love Basket Project, 1010 E. Main St., Cambridge City, IN 47327.
