Kelly died Monday, September 5, 2011 at Center, Nebraska. Kelly Michael Kracht, son of Ernest and Marlene (Nohr) Kracht was born July 31, 1961 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota. Kelly suddenly left us to be with his Lord and Savior on September 5, 2011 due to a 4-wheeler accident. Kelly attended Center School until the 6th grade, where he was the smartest and only student in his grade. Kelly graduated with the class of 1979 at Creighton High School. On August 1, 1992, he married Gayle Doering. Three very special children were born to them, Chelsey (age 17), Michael (age 16) and Kylee (age 11). Farming was a great passion for Kelly. He was a very busy person but found time with his children to be the best time spent. There were endless enjoyable outdoor activities with Chelsey, Michael and Kylee, including sledding, paintball, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, tubing and swimming in the pond. Kelly worked for Knox County as Bridge Foreman-Crane Operator. Kelly enjoyed following his kids to all of their sporting events. He was their biggest fan. He enjoyed teaching his children a good work ethic, and was proud of Michael when he acquired the skill of raking, even though Michael nearly removed the fence. He also was deeply convicted to teach his children to make the right choices, to attend church as a family and to give thanks for meals, no matter how hungry you were. The kids were not allowed to call their Dad, "Old Man" until he could no longer out run them. Even on a bicycle, Kelly could run faster! Kelly was a true kind soul that will be missed. If someone Kelly knew or even a complete stranger needed help he was glad to help. He was a member of UCC Church of Center. Kelly is survived by his children, Chelsey, Michael and Kylee; parents, Ernest and Marlene; brothers, Kenny and wife Lennea Kracht of Center, NE, and Keith Kracht of Verdigre, NE; sisters, Kristal and husband Troy Carlson of O'Neill, NE, Karla and husband Marc VanVleet of Billings, MT, and Karrie and husband Cory Adams of Orchard, NE; four nephews; and eight nieces. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kim; grandparents, Harry and Florence Nohr and Charles and Josie Kracht.
