Mr. Ziegler was born Jan. 17, 1946, to Reno A. and Teresa (Reinland) Ziegler in White Salmon. He married Penny Oberst on May 25, 1968. Three children were born to this union. Mr. Ziegler was born Jan. 17, 1946, to Reno A. and Teresa (Reinland) Ziegler in White Salmon. He married Penny Oberst on May 25, 1968. Three children were born to this union. In 1979, he married Jackie Cox. They built their home in Underwood and had lived there since 1980. An avid reader, Mr. Ziegler read many books including the full series of Louis L'amour. He couldn't wait for deer and elk season each year. He loved being in the outdoors. The mountain above his home was like his backyard. Many friends and family enjoyed the mushrooms he hunted and shared. He worked for Skamania County Road Department for nearly 30 years. He was a volunteer fireman from 1972 to 1999 and a member of the Elks Lodge. The past few years, Mr. Ziegler has taken great pride in turning his property into a vineyard with the help of his brother Clark and his wife Jackie. He was loved and will be greatly missed. Mr. Ziegler was preceded in death by his wife Jackie on May 17, 2005. He is survived by his mother, Teresa; brothers and sisters, Clark, Betty, Jimmy and Linda; his three children Zachary, Erin and Andria; and five grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Ziegler was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the Park Center in White Salmon, under the direction of Gardner Funeral Home.
