Description	:	Kenneth A. Burroughs was born in New Albin, Iowa, on November 17, 1915, to John and Mary (Olmstead) Burroughs. He married Esther Meana on August 26, 1935 at Decorah, Iowa. Ken worked in construction for many years, living and working in Colorado, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and McGregor, IA. The Burroughs family moved to Farmersburg in 1974. He was very proud that his Luana... Read More	Kenneth A. Burroughs was born in New Albin, Iowa, on November 17, 1915, to John and Mary (Olmstead) Burroughs. He married Esther Meana on August 26, 1935 at Decorah, Iowa. Ken worked in construction for many years, living and working in Colorado, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and McGregor, IA. The Burroughs family moved to Farmersburg in 1974. Ken also worked for many years at McGregor Electronics. His interests were bowling, music, dancing, and his family. Kenneth also loved any sports, particularly basketball. He was very proud that his Luana High School basketball team went to state tournament one year when he was a player. Kenneth died at the age of 88, on Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa. Kenneth is survived by four children: Sandra (Ron) Beversdorf, Dubuque; Richard (Patricia) Burroughs, Guttenberg; Sharon (David) Wieland, Cedar Falls, and Linda (Larry) Hulsing, Monona. One granddaughter, Toni Wandling, Decorah (who was raised by Esther and Kenneth); two siblings: Donald (Bette) Burroughs of Springfield, OR; and Helen Goin of Hiawatha, IA. Kenneth is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceeded by his parents; wife Esther in April of 2004; sister, Lyle Earle; and brothers, Allen Burroughs, Russel Rinker and Duane Rinker. I loved her too and every night, Spoke the phrase ‘till it grew trite. And so I quit, was I to blame? She knew I loved her just the same. Then I married her, our love grew strong. And when the children came along, I seldom told them, "I love you". I showed them and I thought they knew. My love I never meant to hide, But often love stayed deep inside, Until the words were overdue. "I love you kids" I really do. So I am learning once again, To say "I love you", now and then. To wife and kids and grandkids, too. The words though old are always new.
