Mr. Butcher was born March 16, 1914, in Sioux City. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II. First St., a former Journal employe died Monday evening at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Butcher was born March 16, 1914, in Sioux City. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II. He had worked as a photo engraver for The Sioux City Journal for 25 years, heading that department for most of them. He retired three years ago. He married Helen M. Hungerford April 24, 1954, in Sioux City. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Graphic Arts International Union and Local M584. Survivors include the widow; and a brother, Clifford of Sioux City. Meyer Bros. Colonial Chapel has charge of arrangements. The Sioux City Journal, February 24, 1976 ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Funeral services for Kenneth D. Butcher, 61, 1828 W. First St., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Sylvester Micek will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Meyer Bros. Colonial Chapel. Pallbearers will be Robert Schneiders, John Edwards, Willard Winford, Leonard Juneman, Jerry Skoglund and Charles Koegler.
