Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services at the church. Kenneth was born June 27, 1917, at Osage, the son of G. O. and Nettie Mae (Millard) Lashbrook. Kenneth attended school in Osage and graduated in 1934. He attended one year of college at Waldorf in Forest City. Kenneth married Mildred Jorgensen on August 18, 1940, in Riceville. He worked at his father's drug store until 1943 and then enlisted in the Navy as a pharmacist mate. He was discharged on Christmas Day in 1945 and returned to Osage where he was employed by the Osage Post Office until retiring as Postmaster in 1979. Kenneth was active in the Congregational Church, acting as treasurer for 23 years and as church custodian for five years. He was very active in Kiwanis and the American Legion. He was kept busy for many years doing woodworking, attending senior citizens, delivering Meals on Wheels and was always reading. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mildred Lashbrook of Osage; a daughter; two sons; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Bethel Durby of Cedar Falls; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dean; and a granddaughter Kelly Ann Pilcher. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements." Names of children edited/removed.
