Description	:	Thanks to contributor #48796369 Kenneth E. Holm age 75 of Mason City died Monday, May 5, near Mason City. Funeral services were held Friday, May 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the Baptist Church in Mason City with Rev. John Lewis officiating. Burial were in the Mason City Cemetery with military honors. Visitation was held Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Govier Bros. Mortuary and Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Mason City. Kenneth Edward Holm was born March 15, 1933 to Raymond and Marie (Dickerson) Holm at Mason City. He attended Beechville School and graduated from Mason City High School in 1950. After his schooling Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army were he served from June 1953 to April 1955. After returning to Mason City he married Barbara Kroeger on Dec. 22, 1957. They farmed and ranched south of Mason City where he raised Hereford cattle. She died Nov. 21, 1983. He played in the Beechville Band since 1946 where his father Ray was the leader of the band from 1919 until his death in 1985. He played on the Mason City Baseball team during their undefeated season of 1957-1958. The Holms were original members of the Mason City Square Dance Club. The family was very important to him especially the many hunting and fishing trips they would take to Rat/Beaver Lake and the South Loup River. Through the years many people were treated to his cooking after a big catch. Holm like to attend the local sporting events and activities of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Bobbi Holm of Omaha, Brent and Heidi Holm of Silver Creek and Ed and Kathleen Holm of Lincoln; two daughters and sons-in-law; Brenda and David Licari of Columbus and Jana and Kyle Zarkowski of Waukee, Iowa and 13 grandchildren. Additional survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Ann Holm of Mason City and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joan and Orvin Cox of Mason City and Janiece Cotner of York. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Edwin Kroeger.
