Description	:	Kenneth Eugene Young 78, of Ft. Madison, Iowa, died at 3:p.m. friday, Feb 17, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hoapital in Iowa City, after a fall on the ice. Born Aug. 6, 1927, in Ottumwa, Iowa , he was the son of Grant and Merl Young. On June 4, 1950 he married Norma Maxine Swanstrom in Hendrick, Iowa. Mr. Young retired from Sears & Roebuck in 1969 after 32 years. Born Aug. 6, 1927, in Ottumwa, Iowa , he was the son of Grant and Merl Young. On June 4, 1950 he married Norma Maxine Swanstrom in Hendrick, Iowa. Mr. Young retired from Sears & Roebuck in 1969 after 32 years. He was an active member of Southeat Iowa Antique Car Club and Steam Car Club of America and former member of Lions Club, Jaycees, Lee county fair board and the Fort Madison Merchants. He was a graduate of Hedrick High School and from Iowa Wesleyan Collage. He was a verteran of USMC from 1951 - 1953. He was Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Patrica Rod of Mount Pleasant, Pamela Young of Fort Madison, two sons, Phillp Young of Augusta, Ga. and Perry Young of Danville, Iowa, four grandchildren, his sister, Dorothy Byers of Ottumwa; and two brothers, Harley Young of Stanton, Ca. and George Young of Ottumwa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by hs parents, two sisters and a brother. There will be no visitation, Friends may attend a memorial service officated by Rev. Brenda Goodall at 11:00 a.m. at the First United church, Fort Madison with lunch following. In liue of flowers memorials have been established for the Midwet Old Threshers, Mount Pleasant and the First Methodist Church , Fort Madison.
