Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, with the Rev. Gary Benz officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Linton American Legion. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Kenneth Fischer was born Jan. 31, 1939, in Hague, the son of Adam and Clara (Scherr) Fischer. He attended school and graduated from Hague High School. Kenny served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. On July 6, 1967, he married Leona Weigel and they made their home in Milwaukee, where they co-owned and operated a tavern called "Fischer's Tab." He also worked as a welder for the Ladish Company. In 1977, they moved to Linton, where they owned and operated the Starlite Bar and Grill for 22 years. Leona died July 15, 2000. Kenny continued to live in Linton and worked at the Farmers Elevator. He moved to Bismarck in 2006 where he lived at the Waterford. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus and the Linton American Legion. Kenny enjoyed yodeling, dancing, playing cards and organizing and tinkering in his garage. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Stacie Fischer, John and Heather Fischer and Paul and Suzie Fischer, all of Bismarck; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen "Kathy" and Mike Schumacher, Linton; 10 grandchildren, Shane and Jesse Fischer, Tate and Tayla Fischer, Alexi, Adyson, Bryson Fischer, Matthew Fischer and Jade and Anthony Schumacher; five brothers and one sister-in-law, Eugene "Gene" Fischer, Willie Fischer and special friend, Lupe, Donnie Fischer and special friend, Ann, all of Milwaukee; Bob Fischer and Gary and Janet Fischer all of Lead, S.D.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sally and Herb Haltiner, Lead, Darlene Fischer and special friend, Jim, Deadwood, S.D., Diane Beck and special friend, Dennis, and Marilyn and Dean Schell, all of Linton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife in 2000.
