He was born August 10, 1950, son of the late Harold H. and Marguerite (Stuecken) Knoll in Jefferson City. Knoll, 64, of Koeltztown, passed away after a lengthy illness at Capital Region Medical Center on Thursday, February 5, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born August 10, 1950, son of the late Harold H. and Marguerite (Stuecken) Knoll in Jefferson City. On June 20, 1987, on a pontoon boat floating on the Osage River, he was united in marriage to Mary Boes who survives of the home. On the same date, two years later they were married in the Catholic Faith at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. Ken was the president of Quaker Window Product Co. He assumed the President’s position in February of 2013 after being Vice President for 22 years. Ken’s parents Marge and Harold Knoll founded the company and he helped them when he was in school by doing small jobs at the plant. He went to high school at Kemper Military Academy then attended college at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla. Ken then joined the United States Air Force, after six years of service; he came home and started working at Quaker for his parents. He started working in the basement of the facility making cultured marble. Shortly after that, he was moved to the storm window room and later became foreman there. In 1980, Ken took his talents to the main office to do price estimations for customers. He was mostly involved in overseeing the continued success of Quaker, a company he was very proud of and that has been a part of his family’s life since as far back as he could remember. Ken was a longtime member of the NRA, his favorite time of the year was deer season. He was a history buff, especially World War II and the history and evolution of airplanes, the ones used by military were especially interesting to him. Ken loved to travel, out West and to tropical islands were some of his favorite places to visit. He enjoyed gambling and NASCAR, he loved playing on the river and fishing. Ken especially cherished the time he got to spend with his family and his grandchildren. Along with his wife of 27 years, he is survived by three children: Eric (Amy) Knoll, Christy (Rick) Smith, both of Holts Summit, Angela (Jeff) Wingate of Jamestown; one brother: Ron Knoll of Freeburg; three sisters: Mary (Jim) Brondell of Jefferson City, Judi (Ron) Stone of Avon, CT, Lotti Kaesik of Lake of the Ozarks; two sisters-in-law: Pam Knoll of Westphalia, Paulette Knoll of Freeburg; four grandchildren: Rebekah and Jimmy Knoll, and Austin and Megan Smith and many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, one sister: Maurita Hartenberger; three brothers: Thomas Knoll, Harold F.Knoll, Michael Knoll and a brother-in-law: John Kaesik. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg with a prayer service at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church with Father James officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family Catholic School, National Kidney Foundation or Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
