Daggett, son of Grover and Mae (Bird) Daggett, was born on June 24, 1931, in Sioux Falls, SD. The family moved around and eventually settled in Farmer, SD, where Ken graduated from high school. After graduating, Ken worked at John Morrell and Company in Sioux Falls, SD, until enlisting with the United States Air Force. Ken served in Japan during the Korean War as a Teletype Repairman until being honorably discharged in 1955. Daggett, son of Grover and Mae (Bird) Daggett, was born on June 24, 1931, in Sioux Falls, SD. The family moved around and eventually settled in Farmer, SD, where Ken graduated from high school. After graduating, Ken worked at John Morrell and Company in Sioux Falls, SD, until enlisting with the United States Air Force. Ken served in Japan during the Korean War as a Teletype Repairman until being honorably discharged in 1955. Ken returned to Sioux Falls, SD, where he was united in marriage with Shirley Strutz on October 14, 1955. The couple moved to California where they began to raise a family. Ken worked with Lockheed Martin and Litton Industries as a Technical Writer and later took up reupholstering. After 18 years, Ken and his family returned to Sioux Falls, SD, where he opened up Daggett Upholstery. He continued there until retiring in 2002. In retirement, Ken worked as a driver with Lewis Drug until ill health prevented him from continuing. Ken spent a lot of time deep sea fishing in California, and became a real handyman while there. He was an easy going man that was always willing to teach others. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Shirley Ann Daggett, Sioux Falls, SD, a daughter, Deborah Goertzen and her husband Tim, Yakama, WA; sons Don Daggett, Sioux Falls SD, Keith Daggett and his wife Kim, Andover, MN; brother-in-law Bob Brown, Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law, Shirley Daggett, Tea, SD and Evelyn Daggett, of Glendale, CA; a step-sister Haroldene Bringe, Davenport, IA; a cousin Lucille Austin, Sioux Falls, SD; 7 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother Minnie Frederickson; six brothers, Ray, Lewis, Harley, Lee, Vern, Don; and three sisters, Dorie, Alta, and Kathy. Visitation will begin at 5 pm with the family present from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at the Miller West Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at the Miller West Funeral Chapel with burial at the Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
