Read More	Kenneth "Carp" Springsteen, 71, of Morning Sun, died Wednesday, March 13, 1991, at the Morning Sun Care Center. Born February 13, 1920, in Burlington, he was the son of Frank Earl and Ruth Loper Springsteen. He married Gladys M. Wells on March 1, 1942, at Memphis, Missouri. He attended Morning Sun schools and was a member of the Morning Sun United Methodist Church. He worked in his earlier years as a butter maker for creameries in Morning Sun and Winfield and started the Springsteen tiling business in 1952. He served with the National Guard Reserves and was a former Boy Scoutmaster. He was a former member of the Lions Club and the American Legion, both at Morning Sun, and was a former Mason. He was one of the original board members of the Indian Hills Country Club and the first president of the Southeast Iowa District of the Land Improvement Contractors of America. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Coraliene Clausen, Bettendorf; two sons, Percy Springsteen, Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Frank Springsteen, Morning Sun; four sisters, Eulalie Bryant, Morning Sun, Genevieve Crist and Vera Jameson, both of Eugene, Oregon, and Viola Williamson, Pleasant Hill, Oregon; and six grandchildren. Friends may call as they desire after 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun. The funeral for Mr. Springsteen will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun with the Reverends Tom Zeleny and Nancy Kaye Skinner officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at Morning Sun. A memorial has been established.
