Read More	Hawk Eye, The (Burlington, IA) - Saturday, May 23, 2015 Kenneth L. Keith, 88, of Ottumwa, died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Born Oct. 7, 1926, in Cascade, he was the son of Lewis and Goldie Brazelton Keith. On June 30, 1946, he married LaRue Miles. She died Feb. 12, 2010. On May 11, 2013, he married Lori DeJarnette. Mr. Keith clerked for Federal Judge Henry Graven before joining the partnership of Gilmore, Dull & Keith in Ottumwa in 1953, practicing for more than 60 years. He was a 1944 graduate of Delhi High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. During his service, he attended the University of Chicago for electronics and Texas A & M. In 1952, he earned his Juris Doctor with highest distinction from the University of Iowa. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ottumwa, East Naples United Methodist Church while in Naples, Fla., an active member of Gideons International for more than 20 years, a member and past president of Ottumwa Rotary Club, a Paul Harris fellow, a fellow in the American Academy of Trial Lawyers, received several awards through legal associations, a lifetime honorary directory of the University of Iowa Law School Foundation, a founder of Iowa Simmental Cattle Association and grand patriarch of Keith Equestrian Center. He was a master storyteller and enjoyed spending time on his farm raising Simmental and Angus cattle and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Lori; two sons, Les Keith and Lloyd Keith, both of Ottumwa; two daughters, Kathy Gray of Ottumwa and Sylvia Kreamalmyer of West Burlington; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by two sons and five siblings. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services for Mr. Keith will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Ottumwa with the Rev. Jon Disburg officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. A memorial has been established for First United Methodist Church, Gideons International and East Naples United Methodist Church.
