Read More	KENNETH LYLE MOSHER Kenneth L. Mosher, 83, Route 1, Bonaparte, died Tuesday May 22, 1984, at 11:45 p.m. at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Averil Hartley Mosher Merritt, Mason City, IA. He was born July 18, 1900 in Jackson Township, Henry County, IA. the son of James and Lillian Masden Mosher. On May 17, 1928, he was married to Justine Hartley at the Pine Ridge farm south of Salem. Mr. Mosher was a member of the Salem Congregational Church, was a Harrisburg Township clerk for 40 years and was a 1919 graduate of the Salem High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Iowa State College. He had farmed in the Harrisburg community since 1939 and was a 60 year member of the Salem Masonic Lodge No. 17. He was on the board of the Farmers Mutual Co., Keosauqua, and was a 64 year member of the Salem American Legion No. 94. He was a member of the Van Buren County Historical Society and the Van Buren County Farm Bureau. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carlyle (Averil) Merritt, Mason City, and Mrs. Eugene (Joan) Berkland, Terrill: one son, Norval, Liscomb; one brother, LaMoyne, Salem: two sisters. Miss Frances Mosher and Mrs. Anna Watts, both of Salem; and seven grandchildren. His wife, Justine Hartley Mosher, his parents and one sister, Evelyn Riser, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at the Salem Congregational Church. The Rev. William Strickland and the Rev. Ed Newman will officiate with interment in the Salem South Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, to which the public is invited to attend. The family will receive friends after the Masonic service to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established. Friends may call as they desire after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
