Description	:	Kenneth S. Main, 66, retired Palouse, Wash., farmer, died of Lou Gehrig's disease Sunday at his home south of Palouse. He was born Dec. 20, 1931, to Walter B. and Nora E. Holmes Main near Palouse. He attended schools at Palouse. He married Sandy Lazelle in September 1950. They later divorced. He married Joyce Boyd Oct. 1, 1965, at Pullman, Wash. He farmed all his life on the family farm south of Palouse. he worked several years during winter months as a welder for R.A. Hanson Co. when it was located at Palouse. He was born Dec. 20, 1931, to Walter B. and Nora E. Holmes Main near Palouse. He attended schools at Palouse. He married Sandy Lazelle in September 1950. They later divorced. He married Joyce Boyd Oct. 1, 1965, at Pullman, Wash. He farmed all his life on the family farm south of Palouse. he worked several years during winter months as a welder for R.A. Hanson Co. when it was located at Palouse. He retired from farming in 1993 due to ill health. He was a member of the Moose Lodge at Moscow, Idaho. He was a former member of the board of directors for the Latah County Grain Growers. He enjoyed fishing and camping near Elk River, Idaho. He was an avid rodeo fan and often attended the Pendleton Roundup. He always had a cigar in hand, a cowboy hat on his head and a smile on his face. He is survived by his wife at the family home; his sons, Mark Main of Palouse and Darryl Main of Stanwood, Wash.; his stepson,Dale Cook of Palouse; his stepdaughters Debbie Hill and Diane Main of Palouse; his brothers, LaWayne Main of Juliaetta, Idaho, and Leonard Main of Palouse; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lavern Claiborne, and two grandchildren. Viewing will be at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Edwin Gray, a family friend, will officiate. Cremation will follow. A reception will follow the service at the home of Mark Main. (Moscow-Pullman Daily News, Oct. 6, 1998)
