Description	:	Kenneth Warren Eggleston, 79, of Arbela, Missouri passed away Monday afternoon, November 26, 2012, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. The son of Herbert and Edna Mae Bechtel Eggleston he was born May 19, 1933 in the Brock area of Scotland County, Missouri. He attended grade school at Brock and then graduated with the Class of 1951 at the Memphis High School. He played basketball on a team and they held the record for winning, rarely being defeated. Read More	Kenneth Warren Eggleston, 79, of Arbela, Missouri passed away Monday afternoon, November 26, 2012, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. The son of Herbert and Edna Mae Bechtel Eggleston he was born May 19, 1933 in the Brock area of Scotland County, Missouri. He attended grade school at Brock and then graduated with the Class of 1951 at the Memphis High School. He played basketball on a team and they held the record for winning, rarely being defeated. After graduation he served in the armed forces around the Korean Conflict era in the United States Army from 1952 to1954. He married Mary Onken on January 16, 1955 and to this union a son was born, Mark. Later he married Kay Daggs Feb. 25, 1973 and they had a daughter, Kristy. He was a lifelong area farmer raising both livestock and crops as well as attending to the chores on their farm at Brock. He was a man that believed in supporting his family and liked attending community activities. The coffee shop was his hangout in his spare time as he enjoyed hearing the latest, drinking coffee, settling the world's problems and shooting the bull with everyone. He was declared unofficially the "Mayor of Brock". He was currently serving on the Public Water Board of Scotland County as well as County Commissioner from 1989 to 1994. He was a Member of the Memphis Lodge #16 A.F. & A. M., the Order of the Eastern Star #343 of Rutledge and attended the Arbela United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Keith Eggleston, a brother-in-law; Larry Daggs, and a son-in-law; Bill Ketchum. Survivors include his wife, Kay Eggleston of Arbela, MO; son, Mark Eggleston of Hannibal, MO; daughter, Kristy Eggleston-Wood of Arbela; stepdaughter, Kelley Ketchum of Memphis; stepsons, Mark McClamroch of Bucklin, MO and Wyatt McClamroch of Trenton, MO; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Stephen) Link of Hannibal, Spenser Eggleston of Chicago, IL, Taylar and Tasha Eggleston-Wood of Arbela, MO; eight step-grandchildren and eleven step great-grandchildren Memorials are suggested to the Masonic Lodge #16 in Memphis, Eastern Star Chapter #343 of Rutledge, Mt. Moriah Cemetery Association or the Arbela United Methodist Church and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, MO 63555. Online condolences can be made by logging on to Payne's Website at www.paynefuneralchapel.com. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Payne Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Homer Poor officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery with full military rites being provided by the Wallace W. Gillespie V.F.W. Post #4958 of Memphis. Masonic services were held Wednesday evening, Nov. 28, 2012; at 7:30 p.m. at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis Pallbearers were Greg Shelley, Brad Wittstock, Mike Slaughter, Steve Morris, Doug Aylward, Rodney Hatfield, Leslie and Clyde Zimmerman. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Myers, Dwight Loy, Jodey Lancaster, John Aylward, Dick Robinson, Stanley and John Eggleston. Arrangements were entrusted to the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
