He was born June 15, 1925 at rural Waco, NE to Fred and Hanna (Naber) Gloystein. He was baptized July 15, 1925 at St. John Lutheran Church south of Waco and confirmed on April 2, 1939 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica, NE. He graduated from Utica High School in 1942 and Grand Island School of Business in 1943. Kenneth farmed and raised dairy cattle in Seward and York Counties from 1948-1988. Kenneth was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York where he served on various boards, was involved in the Sunday school, and belonged to Lutheran Laymen's League. He was also very interested in the Orphan Grain Train Mission. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed baseball and Husker football. Kenneth loved to travel and enjoyed visiting new places. Kenneth had served on the Farmer's Co-op Board, the Waco Rural Fire District, the York Co. Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service, and was a Director of German Farmer's Mutual Insurance Co. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Elroy. Funeral services were held January 17, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, NE Interment will be in York's Greenwood Cemetery.
