Kevin Melvin Leisinger was born on May 28, 1961, the son of Melvin and Alice (Hennings) Leisinger in Vinton, Iowa. He was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Shell Rock and confirmed at St. John Lutheran in Waverly, Iowa. Kevin graduated from Clarksville High School in 1979. Kevin Melvin Leisinger was born on May 28, 1961, the son of Melvin and Alice (Hennings) Leisinger in Vinton, Iowa. He was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Shell Rock and confirmed at St. John Lutheran in Waverly, Iowa. Kevin graduated from Clarksville High School in 1979. On October 3, 1981, he was united in marriage to Ruth Orth at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa. Kevin drove the milk truck, later was employed at IBP (now Tyson) for 13 years, and then at John Deere for the past 10 years. Kevin also was doing the maintenance for the low-rent housing in Shell Rock. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waverly where he was very active. Kevin enjoyed gardening, fixing and repairing things, day trips with his wife, Ruth, but most especially spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Survivors are his wife, Ruth Leisinger of Shell Rock, Iowa; two sons, Shawn (Aubrey) Leisinger of Des Moines, Iowa and Grant (Sara) Leisinger of Marion, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Shannon, Cameron, Otto and August Leisinger; two sisters, Wanda Leisinger of Shell Rock, Iowa and Sara (James) Witt of Zearing, Iowa; two brothers, Mark (Wendy) Leisinger of Shell Rock, Iowa and Paul (Mary) Leisinger of Waverly, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Shell Rock, Iowa and also an hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa with Pastor Jon M. Ellingworth officiating. Burial will follow in Harlington Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Leisinger family for a later designation and online condolences for Kevin Leisinger may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
