After graduating from Green Mountain High School in 1974, she went on to receive her LPN at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. Upon her return to Marshalltown, she worked at the Iowa Veterans Home and later worked at TLCA, where she retired in 2018. Helping people wasn't just a career path; it was also her life's passion. A friend to all, Kim's door was always open and she would help anyone who needed it. She had a generous spirit, an unmatched ability to make the best out of a bad situation and found enjoyment in making others smile. Kim loved her family more than anything and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In her free time, she liked riding motorcycles, going on road trips, tending to her garden and shooting guns. She also had a deep love of all animals. Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Harold Baker; her two sons: Brett Wolken and Jay (Jeanette) Harrell; grandchildren: Logan Wolken, Alexis Wolken, Brenna Wolken, Jayden Harrell, Jorden Harrell, Keyden Ibanez and Jesse Harrell; great-grandson, Xavier Garcia; siblings: Connie (Bill) Coyne, Lynn (Dave) Drury, Terri (Greg) Stalzer, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; her dog, Star and many, many friends. Kim is preceded in death by her parents.
