Otterness died at her home in Dell Rapids early Sunday morning, after an illness of many months. She was 60 years, 11 months and 2 days old. Read More	Death of Mrs. Lars Otterness Sunday Funeral Held On Thursday; Leaves Husband And Six Grown Children Mrs. Lars J. Otterness died at her home in Dell Rapids early Sunday morning, after an illness of many months. She was 60 years, 11 months and 2 days old. Kristie Henjum Otterness was born in Sogn, Norway, February 19, 1866. When only one year old she immigrated with her parents to this country, coming to Fillmore County, Minn. Later they moved to Norway Lake, Minn. On October 24, 1893, she was united in marriage to Lars J. Otterness. To this union six children were born. One died in infancy. Those who, with her husband, remain to mourn her departure are: Martha, Clara and Jens, all of Dell Rapids; Anneta of Glenburn, N. Dak., and Jennie of Moody County, S.D. Two sisters, Johanna of Aneta, N. Dak., and Dovina of North Branch, Minn. and one brother John Henjum of near Willmar, Minn., also remain. Mrs. Otterness since her marriage has always lived in this vicinity. Her home was on a farm about nine miles southeast of Dell Rapids, near Norway church, until 1919, at which time the family moved to Dell Rapids where she has since resided. In 1919 she was taken seriously ill with pneumonia which left her in a much weakened condition. In spite of her impaired health Mrs. Otterness was always active in home and church work. She never complained, but was always cheerful and satisfied. She will be missed both at home and in the church and by her many friends. Blessed be her memory. To the bereaved husband and children the sympathy of the community is extended. The funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon, at the Dell Rapids at 1:00 o'clock and in Norway church at 2:30. Burial will be in the Norway cemetery. Dell Rapids Tribune Jan. 28, 1932
