The dance began when Daddy (Lock Stocker) and Edna Williams met Oct. 6, 1945 and were married June 10, 1946. That was the day he would always call "the happiest day of my life." She was his best friend, his soul mate, his reason for living. Daddy loved the simple things of life: memories of a beloved grandmother, Grace Lewis, and a tin cup filled with fresh cow's milk, all his family home with a warm fire in the furnace, always an easy chair in Mom's kitchen with a hot cup of coffee and a bowl of fresh apricots with cream ("angels' food" he called it). His day of departing from this life was Father's Day, June 20, 1999, a fitting day to arrive in Heaven to greet our sister, Brenda Ann, who has been waiting his arrival since June 30, 1974. As we were gently, sadly, kissing him "goodbye," she was wildly, excitedly, kissing him "hello." We, his daughters, Lorraine and Lockey, count it a privilege to call him "Daddy." He loved us with all his heart. Every child has a father — not every child is blessed with a "Daddy." The best gift he gave us was how much he loved our Mom. We love you, Daddy!! Lorraine and Lockey.
