She graduated from Pierce High School in 1954. After high school, LaJean moved out to southern California. She worked as an insurance broker for 30 years and retired in 1988. She was married to Bruce Cowan on July 23, 1977, in Glendale, Calif. LaJean and Bruce moved to Hadar in 1992 and then to Norfolk in 2009. LaJean enjoyed doing crafts and antiques, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hadar, and the Ladies Aid, where she was president for many years. Survivors include husband, Bruce Cowan, of Norfolk; two daughters, three grandchildren, and six step grandchildren, two sisters, and a sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Linda, one brother, Don. Organist will be Amy Bretschneider with congregational hymns “The Lord Is My Shepperd,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Asleep in Jesus.” ------------- {Editing on living survivors names was done.}
