A gathering of family and friends was held at her home January 17, 2009 to celebrate her life. Lara was born in Kenmare, April 29, 1947 to Chester and Elizabeth Rasmussen. Lara Lea Rogers, 61, died January 3, 2009 in California. A gathering of family and friends was held at her home January 17, 2009 to celebrate her life. Lara was born in Kenmare, April 29, 1947 to Chester and Elizabeth Rasmussen. They lived in Tolley, Battleview and briefly in Norma before moving to California in 1959. Lara attended Rio Linda Junior High and graduated from Bella Vista High School in 1965. In 1968, she was employed by the U.S. Department of Defense at McClellan Air Force Base. She continued to work for the Department of Defense at Aerojet General and the DCMS in Roseville, CA. She retired after 37½ years, with many awards for her service. Lara is survived by her husband, Don, son Jon (Haley) and grandson Liam; four step-sons, Bob (Mary), Mike (Melissa), Vic (Janell) and Vince; her mother Elizabeth; sisters Lenore and Cathy (Mike), niece Sara and nephew Zach. She also leaves two aunts, Katie Hansen and Myrtle Nichol of Minot.
