Greg Myrmoe will officiate. Larry passed away after a short illness with lung cancer on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Clear Lake, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews and the Deuel County Highway employees. Visitation will be Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Houseman-Eng Funeral Home, Clear Lake, SD from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and will continue Sunday one hour prior to the service at the church. Larry Dean Rahlf was born on May 2, 1949 to LeRoy and Eva (Prouty) Rahlf in Watertown, SD. Larry was raised near Goodwin and Bemis, SD and attended and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1967. Larry continued his education at Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD. On May 9, 1970, Larry was united in marriage to Kathy Toben at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they lived in Clear Lake where Larry began employment with Lakeview Hatchery. He worked there until March 1996 when he started his employment at the Deuel County Highway Department where he was currently employed. Larry passed away, after a short illness with lung cancer, on June 6, 2007 in the Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 58 years, 1 month and 4 days. Larry was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, SD. He was very active in the Clear Lake Jaycee's, serving as president for one term. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing. Over the years, Larry had also spent many hours working on the Toben farms. Larry especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren's activities and spending time with them. He loved to watch Minnesota Twins baseball and Nascar races. Larry is lovingly remembered by his wife Kathy Rahlf, Clear Lake, SD; two children, Amy (Paul) Paulos, Lake Elmo, MN and Todd (Sara) Rahlf, Sioux Falls, SD; two granddaughters, Paige and Leah Paulos; mother , Eva Rahlf, Watertown, SD; two brothers, Keith (Rita) Rahlf, Watertown, SD and Gordon (Iva Jane) Rahlf, Watertown, SD; one sister, Mary (Jerald) Johnson, Madison, SD; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Doug and Vivan Toben, Clear Lake, SD; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Greg (Darla) Toben, Dan Toben, Clark (Cindy) Toben, Joy (Dennis) Prehn and Brenda Toben all of Clear Lake, SD; and several nieces and nephews. Larry is preceded in death by his one infant son, Troy Rahlf; father, LeRoy Rahlf and his grandparents.
