He was the second born, and eldest son, of five children. Often being described as "the athletic one" of the family, Larry excelled in a number of sports. Read More	Larry Edward Monts, Age 70, of Chapin, SC, born February 1, 1950, to Herman Jacob Monts and Faye Summer Monts, passed away just before midnight on January 10, 2022. He was the second born, and eldest son, of five children. Often being described as "the athletic one" of the family, Larry excelled in a number of sports. He was especially skilled in baseball and he earned himself a college career, starting at USC and ending at Coastal Carolina. He remained close to the sport for life. He was a well-known face at his long- time employer, Todd and Moore, and many people have fond memories of Larry working there and assisting them. Golf was another sport that Larry loved and, during the latter years of his life, he enjoyed spending his weekends at Mid Carolina Golf Club. Larry will be sorrowfully missed by many people. He was survived by his children, McKenzie Monts (Anton Ioda) and Chantz Monts, and his four siblings, Laura Meetze, Norman Monts, Annette Falls, and Lee Monts. Although Larry's game of life has come to a conclusion, his memory will live on, especially in the hearts of his kids. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Herman Jacob Monts and Faye Summer Monts, both of Chapin. Funeral services: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Saint Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Road, Chapin, followed by burial in the church cemetery, with those in attendance observing CDC guidelines to help prevent the spread of the Corona virus (COVID-19).
