Description	:	Larry Willett, 15-year-old Nelson farm youth, became the first 1953 traffic fatality in this county when he died about 10 a.m. Monday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident at 5 p.m. Sunday on the Oak road a mile north and one and three-quarters east of Nelson. Charles Sell, 16, driver of the 1950 Ford pickup and its only other occupant, remain in a critical condition with a broken spine and internal injuries in Brodstone Hospital at Superior, where both youths were taken following the accident. Warren Grossman, a farmer living northeast of Nelson, was the first at the accident scene. The boys were coming towards Nelson. An Edgar physician was called and Deputy Sheriff H.M. Adamson and Highway Patrolman Pesek notified. Larry is survived by his mother, Mrs. Esther Willett of Nelson, and a younger brother, Tommy. Charles is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Cassell, who live on a farm southeast of Nelson. Funeral services for Larry are being held tomorrow (Friday) morning at 10 a.m. at the Denny funeral home in Superior. Clare, Neb., and departed this life on July 27, 1953, at Superior, Nebr. He was baptized in the Christian Faith and attended his final services at Salem Lutheran Church the Sunday morning before his passing. His patience, willingness and ready smile brought happiness and comfort to all who knew him. These wonderful characteristics encouraged his principal desires to find and know his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving mother, Mrs. Esther Willett of Nelson, Neb., his father, Gordon Willett of Salem, Ore., a little brother, Thomas of Nelson, an uncle who has been very close to Larry, Ivan Jacobitz, also of Nelson, and a host of relatives and friends.
