Description	:	TSGT (Ret) Larry Jerome (Cricket) Adams, 75, of Parsons, died at 4:30 p.m., June 5, 2013 at the Elmhaven East Nursing Home. He had been in failing health due to Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer) He was born April 29, 1938, in Chanute, to Lyle J. and Elnora (Baker) Adams. He grew up in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School in 1956 and Parsons Junior College in 1958. He had been in failing health due to Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer) He was born April 29, 1938, in Chanute, to Lyle J. and Elnora (Baker) Adams. He grew up in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School in 1956 and Parsons Junior College in 1958. In November of 1960 he entered the United States Air Force and served until his retirement on February 1, 1984. He was stationed in various places, including Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and Korea. He moved to Del Rio, Texas in 1971 and continued living there until returning to Parsons in 2009. After retiring from the Air Force he worked under civil service 12 years. He enjoyed boating and fishing. Larry enjoyed making chili and won many Texas chili cook offs. He was a member of the Grace Community Church of Del Rio, Texas, the Brown-Bishop Post No 704 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Elks Lodge No 527. Survivors include his sister – Nancy Smith and her husband Charles, of Parsons; Nephew – Russell Smith and his wife Loretta, of Parsons; nieces – Julie Blackburn and her husband Rodney, of Parsons; Lisha Merrill and her husband Russ, of Riverton; and several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday June, 10, 2013 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013. Memorials are suggest to the Brown-Bishop VFW Post 704 Flag fund and may be left at or mailed to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, 67357.
