Description	:	Larry Michael "Mike" Agnew, 59, a 28-year Rock Island resident, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 1999 at Highline Convalescent Center, following an extended illness. He was born on July 30, 1940 to Fred and Marie (Garrison) Agnew at Cashmere. He attended elementary school in Peshastin, H.B. Ellison Middle School in Wenatchee and Eastmont High School, prior to graduating from Auburn Adventist Academy at Auburn in 1958. He was married to Verla F. Read More	Larry Michael "Mike" Agnew, 59, a 28-year Rock Island resident, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 1999 at Highline Convalescent Center, following an extended illness. He was born on July 30, 1940 to Fred and Marie (Garrison) Agnew at Cashmere. He attended elementary school in Peshastin, H.B. Ellison Middle School in Wenatchee and Eastmont High School, prior to graduating from Auburn Adventist Academy at Auburn in 1958. He was married to Verla F. Martin on Feb. 2, 1959 at Coeur d'Alene, ID. They made their first home in Seattle while he worked for Boeing. From 1963 through 1966, they lived in New Orleans, LA while he worked at the Boeing plant there. They moved to Wenatchee in 1966 and he worked in the construction industry. He later owned his own roofing business known as "A to Z Roofing," which he operated until going to work for the Carpenters Union. He started "A-1 Drywall" in 1980 and operated his business until ill health forced him to retire in the late 1980s. He was a member of the Valley View Seventh-Day Adventist Church in East Wenatchee and was a former church Pathfinder Leader. He was a longtime member of the Carpenters Union local #2205. He especially enjoyed bowling, basketball and automobile racing. He is survived by his wife, Verla Agnew, Rock Island; four children and two sons-in-law, Randy Agnew, Wenatchee, Brad Agnew, East Wenatchee; Verla L. and Grant Johnson and Sandy and Eric Stanaway, all of Rock Island; his mother, Marie Brincefield, Rock Island; two sisters, Freda Thurber, Pateros and Donna Gaston, Monitor; five grandchildren, Tawnee Agnew, Mickel Morse, Jaykob Morse, Taylor Johnson and Ryker Agnew. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Catrina Marie Agnew, his father, Fred Agnew and his brother, Patrick Agnew. Commemoration services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1201 10th Street N.E., East Wenatchee with Pastors John and Karen Cress officiating. Concluding services and the interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friends who wish, may make memorial donations in his name to the Cascade Christian Academy, Worthy Student Fund. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
