Description	:	Larry Wilkening, 77, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W. Main St. Marshalltown with Reverend Gerald Robison officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m., until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Liscomb Cemetery. Larry was born December 30, 1937 to Harold and Arlene (Church) Wilkening. He graduated from Albion High School. Larry then enlisted in the United States Army Reserves and eventually into the United States Navy. Larry was united in marriage to Mary Loney on June 18, 1966, in Marshalltown and they had one child, Todd. He was a lineman for Iowa Electric Company in Marshalltown, retiring in 1996. Larry was a member of IBEW (International brotherhood of electrical workers). He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing, stock car racing, gardening with his granddaughter Kayla, and spending time with his family. Larry is survived by his wife, Mary, son; Todd (Amy) Wilkening of Marshalltown, one granddaughter; Kayla Wilkening, a sister; Janet (Bob) Kern of Marshalltown, and three brothers; Jim (Ellen) Wilkening, Craig (Pam) Wilkening, and Dick (Kathy) Wilkening, all of Marshalltown. He is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby and sister, Shirley DeFrance. Funeral services for Larry Wilkening, 77, of Marshalltown, were held Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W. Main St. Marshalltown, with Reverend Gerald Robison officiating. Casket bearers were: T.W. Loney, Chris Loney, Tracy Viers, Wade Viers, Mike McDowell and Nathan McDowell. Honorary Casket bearer was Dakotah Wolken. Military Rights were performed by the U.S. Navy Funeral Honor Guard, VFW Post #839 and American Legion posts in the Marshalltown Area. Groups in attendance were Alliant Energy Coworkers. Final resting place is Liscomb Cemetery in Liscomb, IA.
