Description	:	Stratford Courier March 16, 1916 Lars Erickson was born in Hjeinshog (Jämshög), Blekinge, Sweden, March 8th, 1829, and died March 12th, 1916, at the age of 87 years and 4 days. He grew to manhood in his native land and on the 6th of May, 1854, he was united in marriage to Anna Nelson. His wife preceded him in death in the year 1883, also one daughter dying in infancy. He grew to manhood in his native land and on the 6th of May, 1854, he was united in marriage to Anna Nelson. His wife preceded him in death in the year 1883, also one daughter dying in infancy. He is survived by one daughter, Anna, and one son, Swen, at whose home he passed away. He is also mourned by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, besides a host of relatives and friends. He with his wife emigrated to America in the year 1869 coming to Des Moines, from there they moved to Minnesota, where they resided for two years and from there they moved to a farm south of Stratford and on which he lived until he few weeks ago. Early in life he joined the Lutheran church and continued a faithful member until his death. About six weeks before his passing he fell and received injuries which together with his advanced age, caused his death. He gradually grew weaker until death came peacefully and relieved him from his sufferings. He was a man of cheerful disposition and loved by all and will be greatly missed. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Lutheran church here and conducted by Rev. Callerstrom. The remains were laid to rest in the South Marion Cemetery followed by a large concourse of friends.
