Read More	Stratford Courier November 5, 1936 Obituary Anna Erickson Miss Anna Erickson, a respected resident of Stratford for many years was taken ill suddenly last week and died on Sunday. Some ten weeks ago she was taken from her home here in town to the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Swen Erickson, where she received the loving care of her relatives. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Lutheran church following a family service in the Mrs. Swen Erickson home at 1:30 o'clock. The services were in charge of the Rev. Waldo Ekeberg, pastor of the Dayton Lutheran church. Interment was in the South Marion cemetery. The pallbearers were M.E. Pomeroy, Gust Erickson, A.M. Erickson, Vern Berglund, John Erickson and Oscar Erickson. Anna Erickson, daughter of Lars and Annie Erickson, was born in Näsum socken, Skåne, Sweden, on Jan. 4, 1861, and died on Nov. 1, at the age of 75 years, 9 months, 27 days. At the age of 5 years she came to America with her parents and for three years lived on a farm near Des Moines. They moved from there to Mansfield, Minn., where they resided for four years and then came back to Iowa and settled on a farm, southeast of Stratford. Deceased moved into Stratford in 1916 and this town had since been her home. Early in life she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and remained faithful until the end came. She was a member of the local Lutheran church and always attended services when her health permitted. Left to mourn her death are her sister-in-law, Mrs. Swen Erickson; two nephews, Emil and Reuben Erickson, both of Stratford; two nieces, Miss Esther Erickson of Stratford, and Mrs. Anna Jennings of Chicago, Ill.; other relatives and many friends. There is also an aged aunt living in Sweden.
