Description	:	LaRue Fauber Wilson, 87, passed away Dec. 29, 2016, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born April 16, 1929, in Montebello, Va., and was the daughter of Hercy Franklin and Lottie Campbell Fauber. LaRue married James Moore Wilson Jr. in 1952, who preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded by three sisters, Agnes, Myrtle and Novella; a brother, Harry; and granddaughter, Heather. Surviving are three sons, Glenn (Penny) Wilson of Raphine, Mike (Janet) Wilson of Raphine and Jerry Wilson of Rockbridge Baths. LaRue has 15 surviving grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. LaRue was a gifted musician and started playing her guitar on the radio at 12 years of age. She was accomplished in playing many stringed instruments, and old time bluegrass was her lifelong love. She played with a number of well known artists, her own band and in numerous festivals. LaRue was also an avid quilter, crafter, dancer, gardener and homemaker. She was a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed. A memorial service is planned at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern Jan. 2 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will follow. At the family’s request, burial will be private.
