Description	:	Last Rites Held For Mrs. Monroe Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Community Methodist Church for Mrs. Laura Ann (Granny) Monroe, with Re. John B. Coan officiating. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Lamoreux, Mrs. Chas. Washburn and A. O. Lamoreux, with Mrs. Marie Smith at the piano, sang her favorite hymns, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus, " and "In The Sweet Bye and Bye." Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Lamoreux, Mrs. Chas. Washburn and A. O. Lamoreux, with Mrs. Marie Smith at the piano, sang her favorite hymns, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus, " and "In The Sweet Bye and Bye." Mrs. Monroe passed away April 13 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Stanley Slade. She was born in Kentucky, Feb. 23, 1863. She was married to John Will Monroe and they lived in Kentucky until they came to Washington in 1917. Her husband and three sons, Carl of Kentucky, Sterling of Okanogan, and Vernon of Bridgeport Bar, preceded her in death. The church was filled to overflowing and floral tributes covered the front and sides of the auditorium. Pall bearers were grandsons, Robert, Bruce and Warren Monroe and Ray Belles, Stanley Mackey and Earl Mackey; honorary pall bearers were her great grandsons-in-law, Jerry Divis, Ellis McClure, Scott Witt, Fred Griffith, Paul Olson, Ben Sloan, Dick Bennett and Roy Westerdahl. She is survived by two sons, Leonard adn Raleigh of Bridgeport; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Slade, Bridgeport and Mrs. Leo Mullen, Everett. Interment was in the Bridgeport cemetery.
