Description	:	Laura Annette Larsgard was born November 11, 1917 at Leeds N,D, to Lars Larsgard and Bessie Horie. At a very young age she was adopted by the Skardet family and was raised in Burke County. She was brought to the Lord in baptism at Nasareth Lutheran Church, Vanville, ND on July 28, 1918 by her adopted parents Finger and Ingeborg Skardet. At a very young age she was adopted by the Skardet family and was raised in Burke County. She was brought to the Lord in baptism at Nasareth Lutheran Church, Vanville, ND on July 28, 1918 by her adopted parents Finger and Ingeborg Skardet. She affirmed her Christian faith through her testimony before the Lutheran Congregation after confirmation studies. On November 28, 1934 Laura married Arthur Westby. They lived on a farm in Kandiyohi Twp. for three years and then in 1938 they bought land in Lostwood Twp of Mountrail County where they farmed and raised their family. They moved to Kenmare in the early 1970's. Laura also worked as a cook at the Kenmare Hospital. Arthur died in 1983 and Laura then lived in Kenmare, Stanley and Tioga. She spent the past several years in the Bismarck Good Samaritan Home. Laura is survived by her sons, Delvin (Rose) of Bismarck, Arlow (Marcella) of Kenmare, Marlow of Stanley, Harold (Marlene) of Stanley and Larry (Maxine) of Bismarck and daughter, Ramona(Terry) Bomstad of Palermo; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-granchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. Laura Westby, 99, from Bismarck formerly of Kenmare and Tioga died Monday, November 21, 2016 in a Bismarck Care Center. Funeral services were held Friday November 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm at River of Life Assembly of God in Stanley. Burial was in the Lakeview Cemetery at Kenmare beside her beloved husband Art. There will visitation prior to the service in the church. Laura was preceded in death by her parents and adoptive parents and an infant son, Ardell.
