OBITUARY: Nevada Journal Mrs. Emil Hansen, 47, wife and mother of two children died at her home in Grant township Sunday evening at 8:15, victim of a cancer from which she had been a sufferer for about a year and nine months, the last three weeks of which she had been confined to her bed under the care of a doctor and nurse. During the latter period it had been realized that her days were rapidly drawing to a close and everything possible was done to make things as easy as possible for her, but there was no chance of staying off the end. The funeral will he held Tuesday. After a brief service at the home two miles west and a mile and a half south of town, at 2 o'clock, the funeral will be held at Memorial Lutheran church at 2:30, and interment will be in the Nevada cemetery. The services will be in charge of her pastor, Dr. J. O. Simon of Memorial Lutheran church. Laura Emelia Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Jorgan Nelson, was born on the old homestead, near where she died, April 13, 1882. Ther she lived as a gril and on January 17, 1907, was united in marriage to Emiel Hansen. To this union two children were born, a son Harold is 19 years of age and daughter Helen May 13. Besides her husband, son and daughter, she leaves one sister, Tena, wife of Frank H. Kinsman and two brothers, Henry and Fred W. Nelson, all of whom had been with her and were present at her bedside when she finally passed away. Her mother had died in 1913 and the father four years later. She was the daughter of one of the oldest and most respected families in that community and had always held a high place in the esteem of the people with whom she came in contact. A loving wife and mother, devoted to her family and home, she will be deeply mourned by not only members of the family, but a wide circle of neighbors and friends as well. She had been a member of Memorial Lutheran church from childhood; was a member of the Red Eagle Kensington and North Grant Community clubs and during the years that her health permitted had taken an active interest in the affairs of the community in which she lived.
