Though her maternal grandmother Elizabeth Lay had passed away prior to her birth and her grandfather Andrew Jackson Johnson had remarried to Laura Frances (Tucker) Rawlins. Married 12 Mar 1902, 1845-1928. Her Grandfather Andrew died when she was two, left her Step-grandmother to raise her. With no children of her own she probably loved raising her. On the 1910 Census she showed Laura Hazel as her daughter, Johnson instead of Coulson, the 1920 Census as her niece, another as a grandchild. Laura Hazel went by her middle name Hazel, sometimes used Johnson as her last name. Laura Hazel's first child was born out of wedlock on March 28, 1923 in Linneus MO. Giving him her grandparents last name Johnson, and her name shows only as Coulson Johnson (no first name). His birth certificate shows the biological father as Floyd Earl Williams a Railroad worker in Linneus MO. (which my DNA matches). Soon after his birth, she got together with Thaddeus Albert 'Ted' Kosak. Don't believe they ever married. In 1927 a second son Edward Kent Kosak was born, In 1929 Mary Ruth Kosak was born all in Linneus Missouri. Between 1929 and 1930 Ted got antsy and headed out for California, ended up in Hayfork CA where their next daughter Elizabeth Louise 'Betty' was born on 11 April 1930. Ted did farming and some gold panning . Was there until sometime after 1935. Then picked up and went back to Missouri for a few years. Before you knew it on road again. This time to Oregon around Selma area. There Laura Hazel was falling for this Charles Everett Reese, where Faye and Edward was helping him on his farm. Ted headed back to Missouri. Sometime in the 50's was back in Hayfork. In 1942 Laura Hazel married Charles Everett Reese Feb 21, 1942 in Jackson, OR. Faye and Charles both joined the Army, Charles the Army Air Force. Served for a dew years during WWII. Moved around quite a bit in Oregon. Last one in Tillamock OR, when the two of them were in a head on collision and Charles was killed put Grammy in hospital for some time. After that she moved to Hayfork CA. where by then her two sons Faye Malcolm and Edward Kent were living. Her marriages were to Charles Everett Reese of Oregon, then to Florent Verhayen of Hayfork CA, last was Archie Crews of Hayfork CA later in life lived in Redding CA.. Again I can't find any record of her ever been married to Ted Kosak, no a divorce before she married Charles Reese. Mary Ruth Kosak born March 9, 1929 - July 22, 2006 Boise, Ada, Idaho. Doesn't show on memorial. She was cremated Can't find her grave. She is very much MISSED my her grandchildren.
