Old letters to and from family members confirm her relationship to these siblings. Laura married Jeremiah House on 6 Jan 1847 in Theresa, Jefferson, New York. Laura and Jeremiah were the parents of ten children, two unknown; John D., Mary G., David Jerome, Peter Wilbur, Ida A., Jeremiah Alonzo, Emma Jane and Charles William House. Mary G died before the 1856 Iowa State census, David Jerome died before 1870. Laura was found in the 1905 census, and in a letter written on 11 Mar 1912 by her son Alonzo, it was reported Laura had died about five years earlier. In 2005, a direct descendant of Laura was told by the cemetery office that she is buried with Jeremiah and has a stone, but there are no recorded dates, and none on the stone. Update 2020: Cemetery records indicate Laura is buried in the same plot as her husband, as well as their son, Charles House. However there is only a subscription on one side, for Jeremiah.
