Description	:	Mrs. Laura Jane Gano, 84, died Sunday evening at the home of your daughter, Mrs. Ed Clancy (Viva) She was born Jul 25, 1859 in Albany, MO. She had lived in Sioux City, IA for 17 years. Survivors are her widower William D.Gano and three daughters, Mrs. Clancy and Mrs. Robert Woolworth and Mrs. Ed Britton all of Sioux City. Foote: Laura was married to Nathaniel Tanner McGilvra on Dec 31, 1877. He died on Oct 4, 1888 of a sudden heart attack at the age of 36. She raised their four children, Leslie Grace(Woolworth), Viva Bell(Clancy) Lon Maude"Lulu"(Britton) and Nathaniel Tanner Jr. until they were all grown and married. She then married her step brother Will Gano. (this information was told to me by my mother, Ruby E. Woolworth Foote) She had one sister, Mary Isabelle(1854-1859) Five brothers; Henry Tallman (1852-1934), William Carlton (1855-?), Frank Eugene(1857-?) and Alfred (1862-1865) Her Mother remarried, Isaac D. Gano, after the death of her father, they had a son Claude Bradbury Gano (1875-1953) Her father died during the Civil War in 1864 at East Point, GA of disentery.
