Willey, 2415 Broadway, aged 82, died at 4:30 o'clock Tuesday at the Parsons hospital where he was taken a few days ago for medical treatment. He had been in his normal health until a week ago when he suffered an attack of pneumonia. The funeral will be held at the Martin Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by the Rev Ralph O. Taylor. Interment will be made in Oakwood Cemetery. Willey 2415 Broadway, with whom he had made his home since arriving in Parsons, and one daughter, Mrs. Harry Darling, Coutis Alberta, Canada. Mr. Willey moved to Parsons with his son C.B. Willey, mechanical superintendent at the Foley Railway Printing Company, from Lamar, Colo., about a month ago. He was a true pioneer of the West during the Indian days and rode horseback all over the northwest from northern Montana to Salt Lake City, UT and had many tales of his early experience with the Indians before there were white settlements in that territory. He taught school for 30 years and was a deep student of German and Latin, and during the later years of his life spent much time in the study of Astronomy. Friends may call on the Martin Funeral Home." (end of obituary) Son of Charles Martin Willey and Margaret Amelia Bradbury, they were married Sept 7, 1851 in Waukegan, IL. He had two sisters; Laura Jane(1859-1943) and Mary Isabelle(1854-1859) Four brothers; William Carlton (1855-?), Frank Eugene(1857-?) and Alfred (1862-1865) Mother remarried, Isaac D. Gano, after the death of his father, they had a son Claude Bradbury Gano (1875-1953)his half brother. His father died during the Civil War in 1864 at East Point, GA of disentery.
